Homebound Services

Books on Wheels serves patrons living in the Prescott city limits who may be confined to their residence due to illness or physical disability.

Each patron fills out an application form and an information sheet about the kinds of materials they desire. Once the patron’s application has been approved, the patron will be matched with a volunteer. The volunteer will be provided with a copy of the patron’s information sheet.

The volunteer visits the library and selects reading material for the patron based on the patron’s information sheet or request. Training sessions can be provided at the volunteer’s request to help them develop the skills necessary to locate specific titles and/or to use the library’s online catalog. Once library materials are selected and checked out, volunteers contact their homebound patron and deliver the items. Delivery of books and other library materials to the patron generally occurs at least once a month at a mutually agreed upon time.

Please print, complete, and return a Books on Wheels application to the library.  If you are not able to print the application, please contact the coordinator of Homebound Services to have an application mailed to you.  Following receipt of your application, we will contact you.
