About

Prescott Public Library, "Prescott's Living Room," is a lively community center offering traditional
and non-traditional library programs and services to residents of Yavapai County and beyond. Through
the Yavapai Library Network, our online catalog offers access to over 1 million books, movies, audio
books, magazines, electronic resources and more. Consult thousands of full text magazines and journals
or learn a foreign language through online research databases. Log on to the Internet at a public
workstation or your wireless-enabled laptop. Download an audiobook to your portable player. Bring
the kids to storytime, watch a first-run foreign film, or keep up with the latest astronomy research
at free public programs, all listed on our Events Calendar.

Since the opening of the Carnegie library at the corner of Marina and Alarcon Streets in 1903, Prescott
Public Library has served its mission as the learning center of the community, driven by community
needs. Ask a question, request an item or send us your suggestions. Support the library – become a
member of the Friends of the Prescott Public Library, or join over 100 volunteers providing a wide
range of support services.

Studies from across the country show that public libraries contribute to the economic growth of communities
and provide a significant return on investment for taxpayers. Use our Library Use Calculator to calculate the
value of the services you receive from Prescott Public Library.
