City Seeks Volunteers for Library Advisory Board

The City of Prescott is seeking five (5) volunteers to serve on a newly established Library Advisory Board. Applications are available in the City Clerk’s Office, 201 S. Cortez, Prescott City Hall and must be returned to the Clerk’s Office by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012. Applications are also available on the City website at www.prescott-az.gov/leadership/boards.

Duties of the Board include but are not limited to assisting the library by reviewing and providing input on the capital and operating budget of the library, providing input on various policy matters and assisting in formulation of a cost-recovery policy for the library. The board consists of five members appointed by the Council with terms expiring and available for reappointment in March 2014. The board is solely advisory to the Council but plays a key role by working with the Library Director to provide important public input on all matters pertaining to the library service needs of the citizens of Prescott and in reviewing and supporting appropriate library services and activities for the general public. Of the five (5) volunteers, there is a preference for one member as representative of the pre K-12 educational community and one member as representative of the youth community of Prescott.
