Drop by and listen to some local music with Just 4 Mama while you dig around at different stations and learn just what happens underground from community experts! Critters, a game, worms and a fire truck will be on hand, provided by Heritage Park Zoo, the Highlands Nature Center, the Yavapai County Master Gardeners and the City of Prescott Fire Department. Teen Summer Reading Celebration
Summer vacation is nearly here and we’re planning a backyard celebration. Find rootbeer floats, a chalk-art contest, and water games on the Library Lawn. Plus, pick up a summer reading packet and get a jump start on the Teen Summer Reading Program. In case of inclement weather, indoor activities will be taking place in the Founders Suite. Presented with funding from the Friends of the Prescott Public Library. For teens, grades 6-12. Call 777.1537 for more information.

Yavapai Diaper Drive @ PPL

This spring, the Coalition for Compassion and Justice, with the support of First Things First, invites the community to help local babies and toddlers by supporting the 4^th annual Yavapai Diaper Drive. May 12 (Mothers’ Day) – June 16 (Fathers’ Day) you will find a collection bin on the Lower Level of the library. Diapers will be distributed to organizations throughout the community that serve local families in need.

Those who want to promote the use of cloth diapers as an alternative to disposable diapers are encouraged to donate new cloth diapers, which will be given to families with access to laundry facilities.

Monetary donations can be sent to CCJ Diaper Drive, PO Box 1882, Prescott, Arizona 86302. All donations will be used to purchase diapers and wipes. Diapers may also be dropped off at CCJ Open Door at 505 West Gurley Street, Prescott, from 9-1 Tuesday through Friday and other locations listed on the CCJ website.

Storytime Rx

A prescription for growing young readers! Storytimes at PPL offer:
Stories – from classics you will remember to fresh new books you and your child will love
Songs, fingerplays and rhymes – perfect for fun and for developing early literacy skills
Books – check out a fresh supply of library books so you can have your own storytime at home
Friends – plenty of time afterwards for you and your child to visit

PPL’s Youth Services staff offers the “just right” storytime for you and your child. Check our Parents and Caregivers page for information about selecting the best storytime, or call the Youth Desk at 777.1537.
Lapsit Storytime for babies – Fridays, 9:30 a.m.
Toddler Storytime for toddlers – Tuesdays, 10:00 a.m.
Preschool Storytime for ages 3-5 – Fridays, 10:30 a.m.
